f you’ve ever worked in retail (and that definitely includes grocery stores), you know that people are capable of coming up with some truly weird reasons for returning things.
But James Dator of the sports site SB Nation may have witnessed the strangest interaction between a customer and a store worker ever.
Not one to endure the weird exchange in silence, he tweeted out the whole crazy incident, blow by blow.
Take a look at the tweets and try not to cringe too hard!
So…here we go.
I could sort of see how you could get confused here, but some context clues should have given away the content of the package!
I’m glad the store’s not allowing him to return an opened box of a diced vegetable.
What customer would want this guy’s rejected squash cubes?
Anyway, he persists in saying he’s the victim here.
Here’s where the order of the Tweets gets a little confusing.
I’m guessing this guy agreed to go peacefully with his squash, then decided that, no he wouldn’t.
If it ended this quickly, it wouldn’t be a story worth sharing, so, of course, it goes on.
As for the customer’s claim that the squash wasn’t labeled, the tweeter doesn’t agree.
Not just a label, but a GIANT label.
Even after getting a refund, he’s still putting up a fight.
Now he wants his cheese at the same price as the squash! The nerve of this man!
You can’t ask for a price adjustment because one food sorta looks like another!
